Our Breeding Stock & Flock Philosophy
At Blue Seal Farm, our goal is to develop a high-performance commercial flock that thrives in our setting and management system.We are highly selective, focusing on cross-breeding to produce animals that work well for us and are sure to perform for anyone interested in purchasing our breeding stock.The traits we demand from our flock are:
- Hardiness: Our sheep must be robust and well-suited to the local climate.
- Sound Conformation: We select for excellent feet and overall strong structure.
- Excellent Mothering Ability: Our ewes are expected to be prolific and attentive mothers.
To maintain and improve our genetics, we select our best ewe lambs for replacement. We source most of our breeding rams from high-health, high-performance flocks to ensure we are always advancing the quality of our herd.

Simply put, our lamb is fantastic.Our lambs spend their time growing on pasture, eating high-quality forage. They are then grain-finished to ensure a proper finish and a mild, delicious flavour that will have you coming back for more.
